FIFA bans 4 Argentina players from World Cup qualifiers
The World Football Federation (FIFA) has ruled on the scandal that caused the match between Brazil and Argentina to be canceled in September 2021.
According to the BBC, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, midfielder Emiliano Buendia (Aston Villa), defender Cristian Romero (Tottenham) and Giovani Lo Celso (Villarreal) will be banned from playing for the remaining 2 matches of Argentina in the World Cup qualifying round. 2022 South America region before Venezuela and Ecuador.
In addition, FIFA also ordered Brazil and Argentina to replay the match that was canceled 7 months ago: "After a thorough investigation of the factors and based on the current regulations, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided the match. This event will be rescheduled to a suitable date and venue chosen by FIFA."

The incident took place at Brazil's home ground last September.
In addition to the national team losing four key players, the Argentine Football Federation also had to pay a fine of 191,000 euros for "failure to comply with obligations related to security order, preparation and participation in the match".
The Brazilian Football Federation is also not free from involvement. They will have to pay a fine of 477,000 euros for violations related to order and security regulated by FIFA.
FIFA's sanctions do not affect Brazil and Argentina when both teams have tickets to the World Cup at the end of the year in Qatar.
On the morning of September 6, 2021, the Brazil match against Argentina was postponed because of a rare incident. Four Argentine players, Emiliano Martinez, Giovani Lo Celso, Emiliano Buendia and Cristian Romero, falsely declared at the time of entry to Brazil.
A group of people including police and local medical forces burst into the field to take Martinez, Lo Celso and Romero, 3 main kickers, off the field. Buendia was not registered to play, but also sat out on the field.
The match was interrupted for nearly an hour, then canceled. The remaining four players were expelled from Brazil because of the rules for preventing the Covid-19 epidemic in the country.
The Brazilian Health Administration (ANVISA) requires those entering from the UK to be quarantined for 14 days. Four Argentine players did not clearly declare their travel schedule. Before the match, ANVISA discovered the incident and asked the players not to move from the hotel.
